Despite the nature of your business we are all living in a digital world, which makes website crucial for your business. In fact, according to the eCommerce Foundation, 88% of consumers will research product information before they make a purchase, online or in the store. Website is the centre of your business online presence, keeping it updated will get you the conversion you need.   A website can be used to accomplish many different marketing strategies to help your business grow.

Below we outline 5 webiste design strategies to improve your brands’ website.

1.      User Friendliness

What makes for good user experience is a design that revolves around the users’ needs and problems.

The first thing most people notice when they look at a website is its design. Shortly thereafter, they begin to seek whatever it is they came to the site to find. Site navigation refers to how visitors move around within the site. You want the navigation on your site to be easy, aesthetically pleasing, and attention grabbing, offering a great experience to people while they easily locate that for which they are searching.

Good usability can improve the performance of your website and increase your chances of success. It can also boost sales and revenue for your business

2.      Quality Content

Good content is what keeps your website visitors engaged and interested in your website.

Creating content on a regular basis that is useful and relevant to your audience drives traffic.  It is not only the content on your blog, social media, email marketing, it is the content on each page.

Your website exists to help your desired audience learn about you, or specifically, how your product or service helps them meet their goals or needs. If you do a good job of convincing them that you have what they need, they’re more likely to purchase from you.

If your content is good, you should see an increase in traffic, an increase in conversions, and increased activity on your website. Good content is rewarded by search engines and website visitors alike. Search engines will rank good website content higher in search engine results, and website visitors will be more likely to follow your CTAs and complete the actions on your website that you want them to take.

3.      Effective Mobile Experience

Today’s consumers want an easy and fast mobile experience therefore if you are not providing a smart webite you will shortly loose interest of potential clients. Half of Google’s searches are performed from smartphones and other mobile devices.  Mobile users are very goal-oriented.  They expect to be able to get what they need, immediately.

The user should be able to easily navigate the website to find what they are looking for.  Keep the menus short and sweet, keep it shortlists of options.  Versus, extensive menus that they have to scroll down.  Avoid users having to horizontally scroll, they do not want to pinch, content to read it all.  It also may negatively affect search rankings.

While mobile website capabilities may seem like something everyone who has a website should have addressed at least half-a-decade ago, the sad reality is many websites still do not deliver proper mobile experiences.

4.      Calls to Action

A website needs to not just be a beautiful looking site.  It needs to convert visitors into customers.  An effective way to do this is by integrating calls-to-action (CTA).  CTA’s can be used to collect email addresses to send them newsletters, or to download a white paper.

The most important part of a CTA is to offer people value in exchange for providing contact information.  Effective CTA’s will also be prominent, available on every page of a website with easy-to-understand instructions.

The time, energy, and money put into a website is not simply to display a beautiful face to prospects and customers; you want to convert visitors into paying customers. While there are many ways to convert them, the most obvious and effective way to start the process is by integrating calls-to-action into your website. Calls-to-action, or CTAs, can be used to collect users’ email addresses in order to send them a free periodic newsletter, gather prospects’ contact information for follow-up calls, or to provide people with the ability to contact the website administrator with a single click. CTAs, of course, are only effective if they are designed well, and offer people value in exchange for providing contact information or the like. Effective CTAs will also be prominent, available on every page of a website, offer eye-catching design, and provide easy-to-understand instructions.

5.      Improve SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) is important to get search engine rankings.  The higher the search ranking, the more relevant users visit your website.  Google uses a variety of methods to analyse the rankings as well as it continuously changes.  This is why it may be worthwhile to hire an agency to help keep your site’s SEO up to standards.

Successful SEO will focus on keywords.  Keywords are the search terms that define what your content is about.  In terms of SEO, they are the words and phrases that searchers enter into search engines.  The content should have the keywords on each and every page.

Using experts for the job may be a worthwhile investment. Remember, the design of your site is not only one of the key elements that makes it different from every other site on the internet, it can also be your ticket to more visibility, greater conversion rates, and increased business.
